Our moms were completely thrilled to add another lady to the family!
Andrew adjusted to the whole "girl" idea much quicker than I did!
Bear doesn't know what to think about having to guard another girl!
Cravings: Cantaloupe, Alfredo pasta, Eggos (still haven't satisfied this one yet!), and Cookie dough (I made eggless... it was okay. Nothing like the real thing though!)
Aversions: None! I've even managed to eat a few onions (when completely unavoidable), and they really didn't bother me. I just have no taste for them; they have become indifferent to me.
Baby size: Sweet Potato- Mango- Banana
Recent Emotional Feelings: I have been really encouraged lately. I have had some really neat people in my path who have just had some amazing words of encouragement. As Andrew and I enter parenthood, we don't take it lightly, and God placing these people in our lives to encourage us in such specific ways has been incredible!
Recent Physical Feelings: I feel really good! Capri seems to be on the move, and I really enjoy her little movements catching me off guard. She is really active in the early morning (like her daddy) and really late at night (like her college-age mommy). I have had a good amount of energy and really can't complain about much else.
Things I’m most looking forward to in pregnancy: I'm really looking forward to having/wearing more maternity clothes. I am still in that awkward stage where I can use them interchangeably, but looser maternity clothes don't truly fit. On the other hand, my normal clothes fit awkwardly and are beginning to get really uncomfortable. Also, I wear scrubs everyday, and those are becoming ridiculously uncomfortable, and I will be investing in maternity scrubs AND new tennis shoes!
Things I’m most looking forward to when baby arrives: This is always tough because I don't want to have unrealistic expectations. I really look forward to watching Jane's personality grow and flourish. I think she is going to be the sweetest thing but with her own sassy flair. I KNOW she will have a strong will and like my mom did, I pray I can help her learn to use it for good. I also just can't wait to see Andrew hold her. He's going to be adorably delicate with her and fascinated by her!
Best moment of the week: The best moment of the three weeks has got to be when we had our 3D ultrasound! We waited so long and were so nervous the company would be closed because of the snow, but the appointment was absolutely worth the wait. We had a 45 minute long ultrasound where we were able to just watch our beauty "play" around! The worst part was not knowing the gender for a full 24 hours, but it was worth it... I think. You live and learn and we learned that next time, we will NOT be keeping ourselves from knowing the gender. That was torturous.
Andrew’s Shining Moment: On Valentine's Day, Andrew and I went out to breakfast and then went out with my parents to go shopping. Babies R Us had a great sale going on, so my parents really wanted to bless us by buying our crib! Well, before we browsed around in the cribs, we decided to look at strollers and carseats. Andrew was downright determined to figure out how to work every jogging stroller and ensure it was safe enough for his little girl. When we finally found a suitable one, he literally jogged around the entire store with it to make sure it was perfect for our needs. He swerved in between aisles and acted like he was checking his time on his watch. It was adorable and absolutely characteristic of that charming man I married. Jane Capri already has her daddy by a grasp bigger than her hand will ever be!
